Jakub is from Poland and was born with a severe form of congenital femoral deficiency. Dr. Paley and I performed a rotationplasty - a surgery to turn his leg 180 degrees - so that his knee joint became his hip and his ankle now functions as his knee. In order to practice walking in his new prosthetic, Jakub likes to show off his dribbling skills.
